Hadhramaut, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Landline Internet service and Yemen Mobile (3G) were completely cut off on Thursday night in the Hadhramaut Valley, east of the country, hours before the date of the exchange of the batch of prisoners and kidnappers, between the legitimate and the Houthi group.

The "NewsYemen" correspondent said that the Internet service was completely stopped in all regions of the Hadramawt Valley, late on Wednesday evening, and that the suspension of the service is likely related to the exchange of prisoners and detainees scheduled to take place Thursday in the city of Seiyun, in accordance with the Geneva Agreement.

Our correspondent indicated that he tried to communicate with officials in the Public Corporation for Telecommunications to comment about the interruption of the Internet, to no avail.

Earlier, "NewsYemen" sources said that the International Committee of the Red Cross was holding meetings with the security and military authorities in Hadhramaut to secure the safe transfer of prisoners from both sides.

The prisoners of the legitimate forces will arrive at Seiyun International Airport by a special plane from Sana’a airport, while the Houthi’s prisoners will arrive by land, and they will be transported by the same plane to transport the legitimate prisoners to Sana’a.

The city of Seiyun, the center of Wadi Hadramout - the site of the exchange - has been witnessing for days, an intensive deployment of security men and the army, the creation of new military points from the Special Forces and Relief Forces of the General Security and forces from the First Military Region, and the intensive search of various vehicles and the possession of weapons for those without a legal permit.
