Aden, NewsYemen:

Mamoun Al-Muhajami, the official spokesman for the Giants Brigades, in the West Coast, today, was surprised at the motives of the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, behind the refusal to liberate the city of Hodeidah

In a brief post on his Facebook account, Al-Muhajmi asked, "What does the UN envoy want from his refusal to liberate the city of Hodeidah?"

A spokesman for the Giants Brigades carried indications of great pressure exerted by the international envoy to prevent any military operation by the joint forces on the western coast, despite the widespread escalation by the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen.

The Houthi militia has not abided by the ceasefire agreement in Hodeidah since it entered into force about two years ago, nor has it ever stopped targeting neighborhoods located in the squares controlled by the joint resistance forces.

Last week, the Houthis stepped up the pace of hostilities with a large-scale attack on the city of Al-Duraihimi, with the participation of tanks, Katyusha rocket launchers and heavy artillery, and they managed to storm the area where their members had been besieged for a year and harassed civilians.

The recent escalation clearly reflected the extent to which the Houthi militia had benefited from the formal UN armistice, as well as from the Sweden agreement, which the government of interim President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi adheres to, even as Houthi has completely blew it up.
