Mocha, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Residents of rural villages in Al-Mocha district hope that the mine clearance operations carried out by an engineering team in the joint forces will completely eliminate them in order to return to their homes from which they were displaced.

For weeks, engineers from the Al-Mashqar and Al-Shadlia areas have been working with the joint forces to remove and dismantle mine networks, and to clear vast lands planted by the Houthis with the tools of death under the dirt.

The planting of these mines, estimated in the hundreds, dates back to three years ago, when the Houthi militia tried to impede the joint forces from advancing by planting hundreds of them in those areas.

The Iranian arm also wanted revenge against the residents of those areas after they began to show their support for the joint forces and the integration of their youth into their ranks.

Dozens of victims fell as a result of these mines, while large areas were deserted and some of them turned from agricultural areas to arid desert.

As a result of desperation that their areas would be cleared from mines, a group of young men from those areas decided to enroll in training programs related to demining and demining in the eleventh giant brigade.

Salim El-Mouradi said that the engineering teams in Shadlia are working at a high rate and so far, hundreds of them have been extracted.

He added that the mines planted by the Houthi militia prevented citizens from returning to their homes and agricultural lands, but since the start of their work, the engineering team has cleared dozens of agricultural fields.

The demining operation aims to reduce its risks to the inhabitants of those areas, which claimed dozens of lives, but many areas of Mocha still need extensive clearance operations, especially the Yakhlal area, which has so far been devoid of mine warning signs.

The Houthi militia turned the western coast areas into the largest minefield in the world, and this caused the death and injury of hundreds of civilians.
