Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

On Wednesday, October 7, the price of 20-liter petrol reached 18,000 Yemeni riyals at black market points of sale in the capital, Sanaa, and the neighboring governorates, in a new indication of the exacerbation of the oil derivatives crisis again in the areas of the Houthi coup.

Until last Saturday, the price of 20-liter gasoline in Sanaa and its suburbs was stable at 9,000 riyals in this (black) market, which has become semi-official after the stoppage of most petroleum derivative filling stations, including the oil company stations run by the Houthi militia and controlling the oil sector and its trade.

According to workers in this market who spoke to (NewsYemen), the decrease in the supply of oil derivatives, and the tightening of control over the smuggling operations that feed this market from the governorates of Marib and Al-Jawf, are believed to be the reason behind the recent increase in the prices of oil derivatives by 100% than they were before 3 days.

On Wednesday, it was noted in Sana'a, the limited movement of transport and the movement of vehicles on roads and public streets, in light of the continued worsening of living conditions, successive crises and price doses, and manipulation of the prices of communications and Internet services.

Farmers have expressed their concerns about the repercussions of the high diesel price, which reached 12,000 riyals for a capacity of 20 liters, at black market points of sale, in light of the continuing inability of officials of the oil company and the government in Sanaa to find solutions to the crisis and to provide oil derivatives and distribute them to filling stations.

20 thousand in Ibb governorate

Local sources in Ibb governorate (central Yemen) indicated that the price of petrol bear increased there to 20 thousand riyals for a container 20 liters, while workers in the black market told (NewsYemen) that the price in Marib Governorate (east of Sanaa) reached 15 thousand riyals for 20 liters.

This grinding crisis comes to have its negative effects on all walks of life, while the government of Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor is discussing "its draft plan to celebrate the birth of the Prophet" and the formation of preparatory committees.

A government meeting held recently by most of the ministers in Sana'a examined the complementary and coordinating roles of the various ministries, institutions, government agencies and localities to celebrate this religious occasion and its positive effects on the reality of the Yemeni people.

According to the (Saba) agency in Sana'a, which is under the control of the Houthi militia, "the meeting assigned all ministries and relevant authorities to review the draft plan, each in their own right, and add what they see as development proposals in preparation for approval in its final form."

Political sources in Sanaa commented on these developments assuming that the performance of the Bin Habtoor government is basically the performance of purely services for everything related to the lives and concerns of citizens, considering discussing a celebration plan for a religious occasion, an expression of what she described as a state of political and social dichotomy between the government's concerns and the concerns of citizens and their crises.
