7 killed and injured in a mine explosion in an officer's car in Marib

Seven civilians were killed and wounded, all from the same family, when a mine exploded in the car of a colonel at dawn sunday on a highway near Marib.
The mine exploded in Colonel Dhiab Ali Amer al-Salhi's car on the road between The Safar area and Ben Ma'ili station, killing four people and injuring three others.
According to a local source, Dhiab al-Salhi's son, a resident of Rima province and two other Somali nationals were killed in the blast, injuring Salhi, his wife, who was seriously injured and one of his 6-year-old children.
To date, it is not known who was behind the mine cultivation or the motives for targeting the officer and his family.
