Finance employees of Taiz demonstrate to demand protection from attacks by army and security officers

On Tuesday, employees of the Finance Office in Taiz Governorate implemented a protest and a march in which they demanded that the Finance Office take all legal measures to protect its affiliates and file a lawsuit against the aggressors and those behind the repeated attacks on financial cadres.



In a statement issued by the protest vigil and the march, the Finance Office employees threatened a general strike on the ground until the aggressors and those behind them were brought to the judicial authorities to investigate them, refer them to the judiciary, and punish them for what they did in accordance with the law.



 The protesters appealed to the Minister of Finance, Salim Bin Brik and the Governor of the Governorate, the head of the local council, Nabil Abdo Shamsan, to take their legal and moral responsibilities, and to quickly take deterrent legal measures against the aggressors, and to provide a safe environment for all civil employees, especially the Finance Office employees, as they are the most vulnerable to attacks from members of the army and security and the leadership of the local authority In the governorate and districts.



The protesters called on all trade unions, civil society organizations, and Yemeni political and cultural actors to show solidarity and support, and to condemn the lawlessness and the behavior of gangs and armed militias.


 An armed group led by an officer in the 22nd Meccan Brigade assaulted the manager of the accounting unit in the Finance Branch of the Patience Department of Mukhtar Noureddine, on Monday, after the latter refused to spend amounts of money in violation of the law.




The assaulted finance officer appeared in a crying video, explaining how he was assaulted and his suitcase that was containing all of his business belongings was looted.
