Sanaa, Newsyemen:

The Houthi militia has determined that all cases of acute pneumonia, influenza, and cough are suspected cases of emerging coronavirus, and PCR tests are required for these cases.

In a sudden step, the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - approved what it described as raising the levels of dealing with all cases of acute pneumonia, influenza or coughing, to the highest degree "including applying precautionary measures to those who had contact with them by subjecting them to quarantine."

In a circular to the Ministry of Health run by the Houthi militia in Sana'a, it carried an important and urgent address, which included directing directors of health offices and hospital officials to receive and treat all cases of acute pneumonia, and to take all necessary procedures for these cases from laboratory evaluation and examination, including the PCR examination ) dedicated to the examination of cases of infection with the Coronavirus.

The circular included all cases, whether coming from outside Yemen or not.

And the Houthi militia in Sanaa implemented sterilization campaigns for a number of streets and public markets that citizens frequently visit during the nights of Ramadan.

These measures raise doubts that the Coronavirus will spread to areas under the control of the Houthi coup.

Yemen has recorded 12 cases of the new Coronavirus (COVID-19), including two deaths as of Monday, May 4, and the first case was recorded in Hadhramaut Governorate on the tenth of last April before the health office announced the recover of this case.
