The Assistant Secretary-General of the General People's Congress, Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Qirbi, called on the United Nations and the international community to issue an international resolution to end a comprehensive cessation of the war in Yemen and set a date for negotiations for a political solution.

This came in a tweet on his Twitter account, and he began by criticizing the UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, who ignored the party behind the escalation of armed confrontations in his briefing to the recent Security Council session on Yemen.

"The envoy, in his briefing (presented last Thursday to the Security Council), clarified what was going on without specifying the responsibility for the escalation or submitting a practical plan to stop it," said the Assistant Secretary-General of the General People's Congress - the former foreign minister.

He added, "Therefore, the escalation will continue as long as the war continues, which requires the issuance of an international resolution to halt the war and set a date for negotiations for a political solution."

Dr. Al-Qirbi concluded, at the end of his tweet, that "the Yemenis are fed up with briefings, statements and decisions that do not end their suffering and their torture."
