On Saturday, February 22, Houthi militias again targeted the control points of the liaison officers of the Coordination Committee for Redeployment in the city of Hodeidah, while putting the United Nations committee at stake regarding the implementation of the recently signed calm mechanism for the second time.

The latest targeting came 5 days after a joint meeting of liaison officers chaired by the Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission and agreement to stabilize the cease-fire, prevent attacks and stop escalation in all areas of Hodeidah and its south.

The control points for the joint liaison officers from the two sides, which are five points, failed to confirm the cessation of hostilities and violations of the ceasefire, and they themselves are subjected to repeated attacks.

A field source in the joint forces confirmed, on Saturday, that the Houthi militia targeted several Czech shots from the side of the Yemen Mobile tour, the supply point of the control station stationed in City Max on Sanaa Street

The Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission in Support of the Hodeidah Agreement, German, Daniella Ruslak, held last Tuesday an important meeting with the liaison officers to save the calm mechanism that the Houthi militias have not adhered to since the entry into force of the UN truce, as well as the rapid deployment of international observers along with the liaison officers of the two parties in the five points.

While the aforementioned meeting came out with several points, the most important of which was stopping the targeting of the liaison officers ’points, the new targeting of the City Max point would put the International Committee at stake.

Houthi militias have previously targeted the control points of the liaison officers, the last of which was the targeting of the liaison officers point in the scene with artillery shelling early this month.
