The Legitimacy Support Alliance in Yemen said that the Houthi militia continues to deploy sea mines in the Bab al-Mandab strait and the southern Red Sea, killing 3 Egyptian fishermen in the Red Sea on Wednesday.
The coalition announced, in a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency, "SPA", at dawn Friday, that 3 Egyptian fishermen were killed and 3 others were rescued after a Houthi landmine exploded in their boat south of the Red Sea.

"At 02:00 am on Wednesday, 5 February," the coalition naval forces carried out a response in response to a report that a fishing boat was drowned in international waters in the Red Sea as a result of a sea mine explosion, "said coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki.
He continued, "The fishing boat was carrying six fishermen of Egyptian nationality, three of whom were rescued, and three others were martyred due to the explosion of a marine mine."

Al-Maliki considered that "the persistence of the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia in the deployment and cultivation of marine mines represents a real threat to the movement of maritime navigation and international trade in the Bab al-Mandab strait and the southern Red Sea."
At the same time, he affirmed that the coalition is continuing its efforts to neutralize marine threats and the threat of marine mines, explaining in this regard that the total of discovered and destroyed mines reached 137 marine mines that the Houthi militia planted and randomly deployed in the Bab al-Mandab strait and the southern Red Sea.
