The German newspaper "Frankfurter Allgemeine" said that the tensions in the Middle East region that followed the death of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani at the hands of Washington still exist and are now reflected in the Yemen war.

The newspaper pointed out that it is difficult for international mediators to contain the violence and avoid the collapse of the negotiation process in Yemen.

The newspaper quoted Western diplomats and observers, that the recent escalation in Yemen indicates the willingness of the actors of the conflict, especially after the killing of the Iranian leader Qassem Soleimani with an American hand.

It explained that the UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths failed to reach a compromise solution to the Yemeni crisis.

According to the newspaper, the Houthi rebels have made clear to the Saudi leadership that they will not abandon the rule of the capital, Sanaa.

It said: "It was supposed to reach a political solution to the conflict in Yemen before the new escalation by the Houthis."

It noted that prominent politicians accuse the Houthi militia of undermining peace opportunities in Yemen after its recent escalation.

The newspaper dealt with the suffering of the Yemenis, which was reflected in the living situation, the economy and the currency. "

Talks with the Houthis will resume in the Omani capital, Muscat, next week, after the Houthi escalation on several fronts, most notably in Naham and Al-Jawf, according to the newspaper.
