A security source told "NewsYemen", on Sunday, that Al-Qaeda elements had recently redeployed in the mountains of Al-Mahfad town, Abyan Governorate, south of Yemen.
The presence and spread of al-Qaeda elements were concentrated in the areas that fall within the control of the forces affiliated with the Yemeni legitimacy in the Al-Mahfad district.
The source said that the militia of the Islah Party, the local branch of the Brotherhood, is financing al-Qaeda militants with supplies, food, money, and weapons.
He said that coordination between the militia of the Muslim Brotherhood and elements of "Ansar al-Sharia" was evident during their participation in attacking security belt forces and southern resistance in many areas of Al-Mahfad.
It is worth noting that the Brotherhood's militia and al-Qaeda militants have intensified their attacks on security belt forces and southern resistance in the Al-Mahfad area.
