Gunmen belonging to the head of the military prosecutor's office stormed the home of a member of parliament of the General People's Congress (GPC) on Monday in the central Yemeni city of Taiz.

The gunmen, led by Rachid Mohamed Hassan, broke into the house of Parliamentarian Abdul Wahab Mohammed Qadim al-Shamiri, a member of parliament in the 46th district of the General People's Congress (GPC) in Taiz.

More than a dozen gunmen surrounded the house of Deputy Member of Parliament Abdul Wahab al-Shamiri in The Dome of the Maasour, next to the wall of the Al-Ajina cemetery in the center of Taiz.

Parliamentarian Abdel Wahab al-Shamiri is in Cairo, while Rachid Mohamed Hassan works as an escort for Mohamed Hassan, head of the military prosecutor's office in the Taiz axis, the source said.

In recent months and years, armed gangs affiliated with civilian, security and military leaders have taken over dozens of homes and land by force of arms in the past months and years in the Muslim-controlled city of Taiz.
