Saudi Arabia's state minister for foreign affairs, Adel al-Jubeir, said Yemen's future would include all Yemenis, including the Houthis, stressing the threat posed by Iran in the region.

Al-Jubeir said in a speech at the Rome conference, where he said: "Yemen is of special importance to us, and Iran's interference in its affairs is devastating and there is a possibility to reach a truce followed by a settlement in Yemen," pointing out that "the only solution in Yemen is political, and the Houthis started the war and not us".

Al-Jubeir said, according to the Saudi Foreign Ministry: "We must be strict with Iran .. Iran threatens the entire region and can no longer tolerate its aggression and we must eliminate Iran's tools that threaten the region and the world."

Regarding the Gulf crisis, Al-Jubeir pointed to his country's invitation to the prince of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, to attend the summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council to be held next week in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
