Government decision to break the monopoly of derivatives and price manipulation

A meeting held on Sunday by Prime Minister Moein Abdul Malik, in the presence of the Ministers of Finance and Electricity and the Director of the Yemeni Oil Company Aden, decided to break the monopoly of oil derivatives and provide adequate needs for citizens and power plants

According to the official news agency, the meeting approved the formation of committees to monitor tenders and provide an opportunity for all traders, leading to end the existing monopoly and manipulation of fuel prices and fabricate the crises suffered by citizens.

The meeting reviewed the offers available to buy oil, and alternatives to provide emergency fuel for power plants, which would ease the interruptions in the service of electricity, and the pumping of oil derivatives to the stations for sale to citizens at affordable prices.

The Prime Minister stressed in the meeting, the complementary role at the central and local levels to find the necessary remedies to solve the crisis of oil derivatives, and to ensure that the occurrence of any supply bottlenecks in this aspect.

He pointed out that the government's priorities are improving services and normalizing the situation, which requires working in an integrated manner to achieve this.
