Sources in Sana'a revealed that the Houthi militias have established a few months ago an intelligence service among the students and educational staff at Sana'a University, whose main task is to gather information about all university employees, their activities and trends, and to submit weekly reports to the Houthi Preventive Security Service.

The Houthi militia set up an entity, “the University Student Forum”, at the university and colleges, with the aim of implementing all the programs, objectives and agenda of the coup militias at the university, as well as luring a number of male and female students and enticing them to join the ranks of sectarian militias, according to sources.

The sources said that among the objectives that the militias claimed to have established the forum was for the defense of the rights and interests of students studying at the university.

Students and academics at the University of Sana'a, according to the Middle East, talked about the continued despotism of the group and its armed militias to the university, and turning it into a new arena to kill law and order, through several arbitrary actions and decisions, as well as repeated violations targeted university students and cadres to control the rest of this scientific edifice.

Students and academics complained about the chaos and absurdity of all facilities and sections of the university, and stated that these practices continue to expand.

The university student body, the Houthis 'secret intelligence service, came among Sana'a University students, replacing the militia-dissolved Yemeni Students' Union, and its leadership was arrested early on entering the capital Sana'a.

Observers considered that the ways and means practiced by the militias to seize the University of Sana'a, are the same methods used by the militias themselves and since the coup to undermine the Yemeni state and its authorities.
