The Southern Transitional Council accused the government of interim President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and the Islah Party, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, of seeking to overthrow the Riyadh agreement.

"The evidence of the coup against the Riyadh agreement by the Islah militia has emerged quite clearly and indisputably," said Fadl al-Jaadi, a leader of the council.

He stressed his confidence in Saudi Arabia "to protect the agreement, which sponsored and deterred the tools of extortion and terrorism," noting in the context that the transitional council "deals with the Riyadh agreement with responsibility and moral obligation."

The transitional leader denied there were any "intentions to renounce the implementation of the provisions of the Riyadh agreement," and said the council would be "more careful and faithful to its obligations," and stressed that "will not be dragged to where the opponents of the Riyadh agreement want."
