Houthi militias prevented the leaders of the Popular Congress in Sana'a from holding any events or meetings in conjunction with the anniversary of the December 2 uprising led by martyr leader Ali Abdullah Saleh against them in the center of the capital Sana'a in 2017 and ended with his martyrdom.

Informed sources in the capital Sanaa told Newsyemen: The leaders of the Houthi militias prevented the Sanaa congresses from organizing a special speech on the 30th of November, and prevented them from organizing any party meetings or meetings in conjunction with the anniversary of the December uprising. It pointed out that the leadership of the militias informed the leadership of the Sanaa Conference about that during the last meeting, which brought together the leader of the Houthi militia Mehdi Mashat with Sadiq Aburas and Yahya al-Ra'i.

The sources pointed out that Mashat made accusations during the meeting accusing Labouras and Al-Rai and the leaders of the conference in Sanaa of communicating with the other leaders of the conference at home and abroad in order to plan to participate in demonstrations against the Houthi militias such as what is happening in Iraq and Lebanon.

Houthi militias have been in a state of terror and fear since the start of the protests in Lebanon and Iraq, expecting to repeat this situation against them in areas of their control, where they resorted to the imposition of tight security measures in the capital Sana'a in conjunction with the anniversary of the December 2 uprising.
