The first exhibition of small business owners was inaugurated on Thursday in Khanfar district in Abyan governorate, in southern Yemen, with the support of UNFPA and CARE International.
Thirty-nine women are taking part in the exhibition, which aims to highlight women's products, encourage them to produce and promote entrepreneurship.
During the exhibition, participants raised orange badges symbolizing the fight against violence against women in conjunction with the "16 Days Against Violence Against Women" campaign.
The bazaar included many different products ranging from popular costumes, cosmetics, incense, perfumes and confectionery dishes, and witnessed a high turnout of citizens.
The exhibition was opened in the presence of the Governor of Abyan, Major General Abu Bakr Hussein Salem, the commander of the rapid intervention forces Abdulrahman al-Shanini, the Secretary-General of the Union of Yemen Women in Abyan Adila Khidr, Dr. Amna Saleh, President of the Union of Yemen Women Branch Khanfar Directorate, and Fadl Abbas, Director of Literacy and Adult Education.
