The tribal leader, Mohammad Ali Abdullah al-Bakhiti, was shot on Sunday by gunmen who followed businessman Hael Abdel Haq, while Bakhiti was leading a mediation process to resolve a dispute over the falsification of Hael Abdel Haq to sign his brother, known businessman Shaher Abdul Haq.
Hael Abdul Haq, a businessman, has previously been implicated in corruption on many fronts, including antiquities, manipulation and currency smuggling, as well as money-laundering.
