A field leader of the Houthi militias was killed by Houthi gunmen in a dramatic shift in the struggle between the militias' leaders, reaching assassinations stage on account of corruption deals or the seizure of financial resources and levies.

A few days ago, a leader of the Houthi militias, Sheikh Sultan al-Waruri, was killed,  who is from Qaflat Other  district in Amran province, north of Sana'a province, amid a dispute with other Houthi leaders that lasted for months ending on Thursday July 11, 2019, killing al-Warwari.

According to tribal sources, al-Warwari was killed near a checkpoint of the Houthi Preventive Security in Qaflat Othor and then the killers mutilated his body before throwing it on the road after looting his weapon and his Janbiya and his military vehicle.

The Houthi militias executed al-Warwari and mutilated his body, despite his involvement in the militias' ranks since 2014, where he was one of the fighters who stormed the 310th Brigade and one of the most prominent field commanders who participated in the invasion and control of Sana'a.

Al-Warwari continued fighting along with the Houthis, especially in the southern provinces, where he was the commander of one of the fighting hubs in Abyan. He also helped to mobilize and recruit fighters in his province and sent them to battlefields.

In Sana'a, another leader, Mohammed al-Matari, known as Abu Seraj, a member of the Houthi Intelligence Service, was killed by other Houthi escort amid escalating conflicts between them and others over corruption deals and pumping oil derivatives into the black market.

Abu Seraj, from Sa'ada, is described as a close associate of the Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi. He was killed in a clash in his house in Sana'a with the Houthi leader Abu al-Zahra before a personal escort of the second intervened and shot and killed Abu Seraj.

In Ibb province, central Yemen, the Houthi leader Jalal Mohsen Mansour was killed in al-Sayani district on Friday after a heavy exchange of fire between the Houthi militias and the gunmen of the Houthi leader.
