The Higher Economic Committee in the Legitimate government accused the Oil Company run by the Houthi militias of fueling the fuel crises and spreading rumors and threatening traders after banned ships were prevented from entering and unloading in al-Hodeida port.
In a statement issued by the Hadi's government, seen by NewsYemen, the committee confirmed the Houthis' false claims that there is an oil derivatives crisis in areas controlled by the Houthi militias .
It stressed that official statistics over the last period indicate that the share of the port of al-Hodeida imports of oil derivatives authorized by the government amounted to about 70% of the total imports of Yemeni ports.
The committee said that the Houthi militias had imprisoned one of oil traders and prevented him to enter into al-Hodeida port, as well as forced him to move his oil company's properties into another company despite he was authorized and given a permission by the Government).
The Economic Committee pointed out that it was awarded two days ago Damas Tanker a permit to enter the port of al-Hodeida with about 25 thousand tons of gasoline, noting that any application is completed and approved conditions will be granted the necessary permission.
The Committee blamed the Houthi militias for rising fuel prices because of the sale of oil derivatives in the black markets in their areas of control, at a price of more than 40%, than the normal price in the official market.
The committee warned the Houthi militias of speculating the national currency with oil derivatives money. The areas controlled by the Houthi militias experience oil derivatives crisis for days, while the majority of fuel stations closed due to militia practices.
