Ayn al-Arab's camera site disclosed the ready for Al-Rayyan Airport in Hadramout province, where the Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi's authorities tried to impede its outfitted amid their provocative campaigns against the Arab Coalition.
Al-Rayyan International Airport Director Anis BaSuwaitin to NewsYemen said that the airport's readiness is about 90%."The airport is about to resume its commercial flights after years of stopping due to tampering with its navigation-related equipment in 2015 when al-Qaeda seized Hadramout.
Modern equipment, maintenance of the runway, set up another runways, buildings, airport lounges, Airport Department building, operating companies as well as children's playroom were supported and funded by the United Arab Emirates, Anis BaSuwaitin said.
Among the airport equipment, 11 new inspection devices in international standards, ensuring that the security measures will be in accordance with international standards.
Despite the vitality of the airport and its strategic importance, the rehabilitation and reopening took too much time, because the government did not respond to requests for repeated rehabilitation of the Airport, "under the pretext of lack of potential."
The airport will soon be able to return to Hadramout and neighboring provinces such as al-Mahra, Shabwa and Socotra.
It is worth to mention it that Sayoun Airport is about 300 kilometers away from Mukalla, the Capital of Hadramout province.
Al-Rayyan International Airport has been suspended since al-Qaeda seized its control in 2015, and despite its liberation the following year, the airport remained far from the government's attention.
The central government has not provided any operational budget for the airport or any funds to rehabilitate it. Government officials have only made promises that have not been met to this moment.
