Results of Integrated Food Security Assessment in Yemen disclosed in December, 2018 to the Food Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) that 63,500 people in Yemen arrived at the disaster stage, and have nothing to eat.

The results of the latest integrated assessments analysis in December, 2018 to January 2019, seen by NewsYemen, indicate that most affected areas related the food insecurity - Phase III and above -in al-Hodeida, Amran, Hajjah, Taiz and Sa'ada provinces.

The stages of food insecurity are divided into five phases: the first is the minimum, the second is the intensity, the third is the crisis, the fourth is the emergency, the fifth is the disaster, and the third stage and above express severe food insecurity.

Yemen ranked in the first list in the world food crisis map of 2018, with 20.1 million people, without food aid or 15.9 million people receiving food aid.

Despite the presence of humanitarian food assistance, the problem of food insecurity and malnutrition in Yemen have become a serious threat to the lives of millions of Yemenis, reflecting the very high food insecurity among some populations that are suffering from hunger and unable to meet their basic food needs.
