The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterich has proposed the extension  period for the United Nations observers of al-Hodeida agreement for the second term.

The 75 observers will finish their first term in office, six months from January, most of them did not arrive in al-Hodeida's Yemen, except 15 headed by the Danish Michael Lollesgaard , who holds the rank of the assistant secretary-general of the United Nations.

In a letter to the Security Council on Yemen, the UN secretary general said "the mission requires a great deal of flexibility in the implementation".

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterich acknowledged that " the mission has just begun its the actual implementation in its mandate.

He added the mission has succeeded in establishing its presence effectively and worked to carry out its task assigned to it.

The Houthis' obstruction of the UN mission came through disabling " entry visas" to areas they control, and the problem extends to the duration of the visa itself.
