Officer, three soldiers killed in Houthi shelling on Taiz city

The Houthi militias resumed artillery shelling on Sunday on residential neighborhoods and the army's sites north of Taiz city, central Yemen.

The armed militias backed by Iran stationed in 40th and 50th streets intensified artillery shelling early Sunday on Wadi al-Qadhi and Usaiferah areas, north of Taiz city, a local source told Newsyemen.

A Houthi shell fallen down nearby the Higher Institute in Usaiferah area,  killing the captain Tayeb Mohammed Ali Sarhan and three soldiers Samed Saeed, Mohammed Ahmed Mahyoub, Ayman al-Mekhlafi, and injuring AbdulAziz al-Sabir and Nabil Saeed.

The military conformations between the National Army and the Houthi militias resumed before two days in the suburbs of Taiz city after a year of stopping.  

The confrontations and shelling during the past two days killed 14 Houthi militias and wounded 10 others, and destroyed a Houthi tank, and three military vehicles , according to the source.

On the other hand, three governmental soldiers were killed, and ten others injured, including Brigadier Abdo Hamoud al-Saghir, the operations commander of 17th infantry Brigade.

Taiz military axis the Major General Samir al-Sabri has stressed the ongoing the military operations of the government forces Friday until the liberation of Taiz province of the coup militias.
