Rights' report: Houthi siege record is the longest in history

The Information and Training Center of Human Rights has documented thousands of violations and crimes committed by the Houthi militias loyal to Tehran in Taiz since the crisis began.

The report, entitled "Taiz, ....the longest siege in history," highlighted the Houthis' siege on the city in 1441 days until the end of January, the longest siege in the war history.

According to the report, which was discussed on the sidelines of the 40th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Center's field team documented about 27,607 violations, while the number of those killed reached 3,279 civilians, including 714 children and 402 women.

Taiz occupies the highest number of wounded in Yemen, and the siege on the city increases the suffering of the wounded, which exacerbated their tragic situation in an unprecedented manner, where the number of wounded 16,402 civilians, including 1,566 children and a girl and 249 women.

The abductees' number in Taiz province in 1441 days (21 March 2015 to 31 January 2019) about 221 civilians, the Houthi militias kidnapped 196 of them, the militias' gunmen kidnapped outside the city 17, and unknown kidnapped eight civilians.
