Billion dollars paid by "Petromasila" as annual salaries for absent workers

A former official at Masila Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (PetroMasila) operating in Hadramout province revealed that the company pays salaries, including allowances for those who are out off from work in its four oil sectors with a total amount of $ 960 million a year.

He explained that Masila sector 14 spends annually the expenses for the majority employees in areas run by the Houthi militias around 400 million dollars, while 375 million dollars for oil sector 10, known by Kharir, and 110 million dollars for oil sector 51 east al-Hajar in Hadramout, 75 million dollars for east Wadi Ser. 

"The government authorities have been informed of the huge sums of money that are being paid as salaries and allowances for those who are at home," the official said.

He pointed out that those who are paid salaries in Sector 10 are more than 585 workers and 150 engineers are distributed between the geologist and an oil engineer.

There are about 500 workers and 350 engineers and technicians, as well as 78 workers who do not attend at the oil sector 14. In sector 51 east al-Hajar are 120 engineers and technicians, in sector 53 east Wadi Ser 488 workers and 298 engineers and technicians.

Around 800,000 is paid for a simple worker who does not come to the oil field, plus transportation allowance in case he comes to oil field, treatment allowance for all members of his family members and his wife, and housing allowance in his province under the control of the Houthis, including a car.
