An official security source at Shabwa province seized gang smuggling oil derivatives from Marib province to be sold in al-Dhale' and in al-Rabat area in Aden city.

The source added the stolen crude oil in al-Nashima pipeline reached to a Houthi refinery in al-Hataresh in Sana'a province.

The security source accused the gang of getting benefit of the stopping production of oil in al-Aqla oil field.

The source said to Newsyemen that the security checkpoint in al-Galafor and al-Gardan in Shabwa province detained eight tankers loaded with smuggled oil products, coming from Marib, carrying an estimated 451,000 liters, dyed red colors to be sold on markets as an imported oil outside from the country.

The source pointed out that the two operators in Marib refinery manipulate the oil derivatives produced by the refinery. They carry the tankers at night, and then they drove them to yard in the province in order to change the oil color.

The source added that the permits are forged by the manipulators as if the cargos were loaded in Nashton port in al-Mahra province.

The source said that refineries Marib refused to supply neighboring provinces last months, including Shabwa under the pretext of the produced quantities do not cover the province.

The source revealed to Newsyemen that gangs steal the crude oil from the pipeline extended from al-Nashima in Rodhom district, pointing out that about 150,000 to 200,000 barrels were stolen from the crude oil pipeline.

The gangs are managed and run by the Houthi group
