The Houthi militias have failed to allow a UN commissioner to reach the Red Sea and WFP wheat mills east of the city of al-Hodeida on Tuesday.

A source close to the government team at the Joint Coordination Committee in al-Hodeida city said to Newsyemen that the Houthi militias fired on a technical team of the Joint Forces that was working on lifting mines after the contact line.

The accident took place at the time of the government liaison officers were waiting for the arrival of the liaison officer of the International Coordinating Committee and his team from areas held by the Houthi militias, according to a prior agreement.

The militias blocked the mission to open roads, cleanse mines and remove explosives on 16 km area, as well as refusing to allow the UN team to enter to the mills and run a relief convoy.

The source pointed to that the UN team was halted by the Houthi militias from Tuesday morning till afternoon because of intransigence of militias and their refusal to allow the implementation of the new agreement.

The United Nations and its envoy are leading efforts to allow the removal and transfer of wheat stored in the silos at the Red Sea mills, which was bombed by the Houthi militias that destroyed large quantities of its last Thursday.
