Shabwa, Newsyemen:

The rain flood revealed the corruption of the local authority in tenders for the maintenance of public roads near the city of Ataq in the Shabwa governorate, southeastern Yemen.

Activists on social media circulated pictures revealing that millions of riyals of oil revenues were spent on maintenance and restoration of roads at the entrance to the capital of Shabwa without adhering to the minimum quality standards.

The photos show the drift of asphalt in the general line at the entrance to Ataq, due to the rains that have rained in the governorate in recent days, at a time when only a few months have passed since the maintenance of the excavations was carried out.

Torrents washed away late at night Wednesday, roads near the city of Ataq, on which the Brotherhood had spent huge sums of money from the province's oil share in the name of development.

It is noted from the photos that the maintenance of the line was carried out in a poor way and lacks the most basic quality standards, despite the huge sums wasted.
